Take a closer look at your blog’s comments!
WordPress Blogs are great SEO tools to add new content to your WordPress website and give readers engaged and come back to your site frequently.
Unfortunately, there are a lots of spam comments that you have to be aware of. But how do you know which one is real and which one is spam?
Previously it was easier to identify spam posts filled with links and unused characters. The problem with the newer forms of comments spam, that they look like a good nice legitimate comment about your blog post.
But these days there are people who are payed couple of cents to posts comments with specific keywords and link back to a website, that is looking to increase its Google ranking. These comments are very nice, and talk generously about the great information on your website. But take a closer look and you will see the link, that has nothing to do with your business info, not even related to your blog entry.
These comments are just copied and pasted general content. Do not care for them, do not answer and waste of your precious time, but flag them as spam. In WordPress there are several spam filters, but you have to train them to recognize spam comments.

Akismet happens to be one of the first WordPress Anti-Spam Plugins which actually started the trend of Anti-Spam plugins. As of now Akismet comes packed with default WordPress plugins which in itself explains the importance of this plugin. Akismet requires a registration key but once you are through the setup then you can literally forget the plugin. It will continue to perform its job without requiring any interference from your end. Although, the occasional plugin updates at your discretion will be required.
This is another famous WordPress Anti-Spam Plugin which has received plenty of downloads and positive critic ratings. The unique feature of this plugin is the collection of words from old books that it uses for CAPTCHA verification. The functionality used for this plugin was acquired by Google which helped the plugin reach the heights of fame. The plugin has a lot of content for you to read if you have time to do so.
