Have you heard about the Favicon in term of website design but you have no clue what that is?
If you are like me who likes to have many tabs open in a browser, favicons are our best pals to find the right tab to click on.
Favicons are 16 x 16 pixel small icons that usually contain the tiny version of your logo or the first letter of your brand to represent your business. Favicons are used to mark tabs in your browser, bookmarks, search histories and even search results. In your Google Chrome browser history, favicons are the only thing differentiating each link from the other.
Favicons are like your website’s symbol. They make your site easy to recognize across multiple browser tabs.
Most WordPress website template offers you to add your favicon to the website, but favicons are not the regular .jpg or .png files but need to be created differently. Don’t worry there are easy solutions for non-geeky, non-designer people to create these. Just search for “favicon generators” and you will find plenty of websites that offer this service for free. This is my personal favorite favicon generator. It offers multiple options to download, like different apps and mobile browser use different size favicons. You can also use one of their icons in case you do not have a logo.
If the WordPress template does not offer favicon option, just search for a plugin and boom! you can add your own. All in One Favicon
